Prypiat, Ukraine

Prypiat is a ghost town near the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant. It was founded February 4th 1970 to house the workers Chernobyl Nuclear Plant. It was proclaimed a city in 1979 with a population of 50,000 and abandoned in 1986.
It was the worst disaster in the history of Nuclear energy production. On April 26th 1986 and explosion occurred at the No. 4 reactor at the Nuclear power station in Chernobyl.  Prypiat can be considered a museum. Everything was exactly as it was left, in the homes you could find books, televisions, childrens toys, furniture and precious objects. Each person was only allowed one suitcase and important documents. As time when by the dwelling began to get robbed, thieves taking even the sinks and toilets.
As a result of the fallout from the explosion, much of the land around the city has been designated inappropriate for farming or agriculture for the next 200 years.
A small portion of the town has been rebuilt and houses almost 2000 occupants.
